Today I ate peacock.
The reason why I’m mentioning it is that by us peacocks are considered cute animals that are placed in parks and gardens to have them roam and follow children and scream and do the wheel thing and so on. Basically useless, from an alimentary point of view.
But here, apparently they eat them. Not only: they consider it as Christmas food.
I remember a movie with Harrison Ford and Anne Heche stranded on a deserted island, where they were surprised as I was today in finding that, after all, peacock meat resembles chicken, just slightly more tasty. Especially if you put some brie cheese and herbs on it.
Anyway, it was a day full of work, with just little time to take pictures, and while the daylight was boring because of the cloudy sky, my evening stroll back to the hotel was more fruitful, photographically speaking.
So, here’s what I caught. Hope you enjoy it, although I must say that the warmth and smells in the air, well I can’t take pictures of those while they would really add to the quality of the imatges.
