Weekly Photo Challenge: Lunchtime

I am afraid this one won’t meet the Daily Post’s requirements. It was taken with a Nikon SLR and not with a phone, almost 7 years ago (when my cell phone was only usable to make phone calls and send short text messages), it has no food in it.

It was taken at lunchtime, though. Well, the title at least, right?

July in Arezzo, Tuscany. Hot & gloomy, cloudy day, expecting rain any minute. Eventually we decided we wouldn’t wait for a reason to enter a restaurant (trattoria, which is more like a local-cuisine, rustic-like kind of place), and so we didn’t.

And in spite of the greatness of food, particularly in Arezzo, there’s a whole lot more to lunchtime than just food. (Sorry this one is probably copyrighted by Pixar or Dinoco).

The wait, sometime the waiter or waitress too, the talk, the observing and commenting, even the silent enjoyment of smells, sounds, voices and lights, all of this can’t be found on a menu, and is, in my hungry opinion, the best appetizer.
