Among the places I’ve visited, the one I associate with light is the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
It’s a church, so it’s naturally a dark place, particularly so because Barcelona itself is such a bright city.
And yet, here you can have a plastic exhibition about the power light has to penetrate darkness, to define edges and details, to explode or to whisper.
It is as if Mr Gaudì wanted and projected an interior to be carved and chiselled continually by light, under the very eyes of the faithful, a divine light that keeps operating.
