A Word A Week: Behind
1November 9, 2013 by allsho
Hey, yes, I’m here, I’m here. Sorry, I’ve been busy, but today I can take advantage of a moment of tranquillity, and write a few lines, and choose a picture for this challenge.
I fell a bit behind schedule, by the way.
Ok, behind.
Behind the apartment building where I live there is a hedge. Behind the hedge, a hill. Behind the hill, I don’t know. We don’t know. It’s a bit of a mystery.
We know of (i.e., we heard) boars, deer, and other unidentified creatures coming to drink at the drain at the feet of the hill, behind the hedge, especially on summer nights.
My children are warned that it is possible that trolls live behind the hill. So, exploring is out of their minds, for now. Then they recently listened to Prokofev’s “Peter and the wolf”, so they are wondering whether there are little birds in the neighbourhood who might help them catch the predator should one appear, one day, out of the thicket up there.
It might be sheer laziness, but isn’t it magic having an unexplored, mysterious “behind the house”?

That is a very unique interpretation of this weeks word.
